Welcome to Barcelona!

PLDI is the premier forum in the field of programming languages and programming systems research, covering the areas of design, implementation, theory, applications, and performance. The co-located conferences take place in Barcelona, June 18-23, 2017.

Distinguished artifact award

ACM Student Research Competition Poster Reception will take place on Tuesday, June 20 starting at 17:30 in the lunch area. Come to see 17 great posters and talk to their authors! Students will also present their work in an SRC session on Wednesday, June 21 in Vertex WS217 room from 10:20 to 12:00.

On-site registration takes place in the hall of Aula Master (building A3) on Sunday, and at the main hall of Vertex Building, Monday to Friday.
The registration desk opens at 8:00. Check the PLDI Program, detailed PLDI Main Tracks event list and the full program of co-located events (ECOOP, DEBS, Curry On).


Barcelona metro system announced a strike on Monday, June 19. Service will still be available but less frequent and thus more crowded during rush hours. We advice participants arriving by metro to take it around 8:00 so as to arrive on time.

The Social Event takes place on Monday starting from 19:30 at Moritz Brewery, Ronda de Sant Antoni, 39 - 41, 08011 Barcelona. Some people may take Bus 54 next to Vertex or Bus 63 on av. Pedralbes to Universitat Central. The majority should get to Sarrià station, 20mn walk, and take the Ferrocarrils (FGC) from Sarrià to Plaça de Catalunya. Student Volunteers will lead groups from Vertex to Sarriá FGC every 5mn from 6:55pm to 7:10pm. Free public transportation tickets are available at the Registration Desk immediately after the last keynote of the day.

PLDI welcomes outstanding research which clearly advances the field and has the potential to make a lasting contribution.

Students can apply to volunteer at PLDI in exchange for free registration for the PLDI conference, workshops, panels and other co-located events. More info available at the student volunteers page.

PLDI holds an ACM Student Research Competition and is now calling for submissions from undergraduate and graduate students. Submissions must include original, previously unpublished research. More info available at the PLDI SRC page.

SIGPLAN has opted to make access to published papers available for free via ACM OpenTOC. Accepted papers will be made available after the conference.

This year, PLDI is co-located with ECOOP, LCTES, DEBS, ISMM, Curry On and others. The conferences will take place at the Universitat Polytècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
